Revisiting Rwanda: 1Medical’s Ongoing Support for the Rutongo Community

In 2023, members of the 1Medical team were fortunate to visit the beautiful African nation of Rwanda as guests of the honourable charity ARCOS Network, family to one of our long-standing senior British/Australian/Rwandan doctors, Jean-Yves Kanyamibwa.

Fast forward to today, and a member of our 1Medical Ireland team, Aoife Sharkey, took a holiday to Rwanda and reconnected with the same community, visiting the places where our initiatives and funding have supported clean water filtration and plantation nurseries for the local community around Rutongo Hospital.

It was wonderful to see, first-hand, the lasting impact of this partnership, and to reconnect with familiar faces who continue to do such important work for their community.
