Information security

1Medical implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information from unauthorised access, disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction, including password-protected systems, controlled user access, secure cloud and database systems, antivirus and cybersecurity protections, regular electronic backups, secure filing and storage systems, and controlled disposal and destruction processes.

Retention of records

Records are retained in accordance with legal, contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements. Standard retention periods include:

  • Former employee records: 6 years after last payment;
  • Financial records: 7 years;
  • Management records: 7 years; and
  • Health & safety records: 7 years.

Where records are no longer required, they are securely archived, anonymised, or destroyed. Hard copy records are securely shredded and electronic records permanently deleted where appropriate.

International transfers

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK or EEA (for example in connection with placements in Australia or New Zealand), appropriate safeguards are implemented to ensure compliance with GDPR requirements. Third-party providers engaged by 1Medical must demonstrate appropriate data protection and security standards.

Data breaches

Any actual or suspected data breach is investigated promptly, with appropriate corrective action taken, including notification to regulators or affected individuals where required by law.
