About the Mid West
The Mid West region takes in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary, anchored by Limerick city and its surrounding towns along the Shannon Estuary. The region’s main acute hospital is University Hospital Limerick, supported by a network of smaller hospitals across the three counties.
The University of Limerick is home to the Graduate Entry Medical School, one of Ireland’s key centres for medical education and training.
Under the HSE’s health regions structure, the Mid West falls within HSE Mid West.
