Belfast Health and Social Care Trust’s RVH Cardiology team is seeking a Locum Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in Acute Care to join their consultant team. The post holder will play a key role in the Ambulatory Cardiology Unit (ACU) based at Belfast City Hospital, providing specialist cardiac assessment within 72 hours of triage for patients with recent-onset symptoms such as breathlessness with elevated NTproBNP, new-onset symptomatic arrhythmia or unexplained syncope. The role also includes contribution to the emergency Clinical on Call service, Consultant of the Week rota, elective out-patient care and MDT meetings.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise and be entered on the GMC Specialist Register for Cardiology (or have a CCT date within 6 months of interview), with demonstrable experience managing general cardiology patients in an ambulatory care setting and competence in managing critically ill patients.
